COVID-19:- FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and its disruptive effect on EFL Football Fixtures, the Middlesbrough Supporters Forum regret to announce that we will not be proceeding with the “Fill Your Boots/ Bring Your Boots” double collections of tinned, dried, and non perishable food for the Middlesbrough Foodbank(run by the Trussell Trust), and the unwanted football boots and kit for charity Boots2Africa originally scheduled to take place at the Riverside  at the Middlesbrough Football Club v QPR match on 4th April 2020.

We have agreed with Middlesbrough Football Club that these collections will go ahead at fixtures to be announced. We, nevertheless, ask fans to get prepared for when we get the green light on the Boots2Africa collection and rummage in their cupboards and polish off their boots and get their spare kit ready for that date.

Chris Joseph, Chair of the Middlesbrough Supporters Forum said:-

“Right now, Boro fans can still do their bit. We will be delighted if our fans will show their usual generosity by making extra monetary donations direct to the Middlesbrough Foodbank. People who are already in crisis will still need to eat and our fans can go online and donate whatever sum they can afford to the Middlesbrough Foodbank during this time. When we collect food at match day fixtures at the Riverside we always get significant cash donations from both home and away fans who haven’t brought food with them. It all helps! We urge our fans to keep up the good work while this crisis lasts!”

Fans can give whatever they can afford by going to the Middlesbrough Foodbank link:-
