Update regarding Staffordshire Police Response to Boro Fans at Stoke

An update from MSF regarding our email to the Chief Constable of Staffordshire Police and The Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime regarding the unacceptable treatment of Middlesbrough Fans at Stoke City

We have received acknowledgement from Staffordshire Police that our email to the Chief Constable has been forwarded on to the Professional Standards Department for their assessment and review.

The Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime (PFCC) has also contacted us and advised that he was very sorry to hear that visiting fans from Middlesbrough were concerned by police action taken at the recent game and that he is eager to understand exactly what occurred on the day.

A case manager has been assigned to deal with the complaint and a full report will be prepared by the professional standards department and a copy will be provided to anyone that has complained so far. The review is in its early stages and there is no set timescale of how long this process will take as this is already a large complaint. It is likely to be months
rather than weeks whilst all information is reviewed.

We will keep you updated. UTB
