Minutes of MSF meeting with Catering staff at MFC. 24/7/24
MSF are very grateful to the Catering team at MFC for giving us their time to listen to the points raised by fans and to thank them for sharing their ideas with us.
Here are the headline points from our meeting in response to questions raised by fans…
VEGETARIAN/VEGAN FOOD
MFC are trialling some new options, including a vegetarian parmo (which will be trialled in certain areas). The crisp offering is now suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets and Gluten Free.
PACKAGING
Food trays and packaging are being up graded to reduce waste and the impact on the environment.
QUEUES
MFC are working on various solutions to reduce queues, including:
- At Concession 13 – introduction of a ‘double’ bar with an increased number of service points and enables pre-poured drinks. Efficiency has increased since implementation.
- Extra tills have also been added at food outlets in some areas of the stadium.
- MFC are considering a trial in the North Stand of pre-ordering food for collection later.
- Staff training has been increased.
- MFC are currently looking at a fast pour tap that will reduce the pouring time of draught products,
- Express Draught Beer bars have been opened at some of the former Unibet stations in the concourses. Staff in the concourses have been encouraging fans to use the new express bars to help reduce queues at the main bars.
CARD PAYMENTS IN SW CORNER
MFC have taken steps to introduce a new immediate payment system for the new season for disabled supporters.
FOOD IN FANZONE
There is currently a lack of space in the Fan Zone for food preparation and service. MFC will consider options for food in this area.
HOT DRINKS
MFC have put out sleeves and lids for fans to collect for their hot drink cups and will also check fill levels to avoid spillage.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
- Self-Order Trials. Fans can order and pay at a terminal in the concourse and be given a ticket to collect their food and/or drink immediately or at half time. A trial will begin in the North Stand Concession 8.
- Hawking. This has been successful at concerts.
- MFC are considering the options of becoming cashless on the concourse.
The club have also agreed to provide garlic sauce at concourse outlets.
